We started making Boom Tubes as a result of our boompoles being damaged during shoots and in shipping. No one made a durable, tough yet lightweight case specifically for internally-cabled carbon fiber or lightweight aluminum poles. Other products seemed flimsy. Professional boompoles start at $500. I couldn't stand to see my boompoles being tossed into car trunks or the back of vans, unprotected! Other times I witnessed boompoles being shoved into tripod cases along with heavy tripod legs and fluidheads, smashing around together. Ouch! A recipe for equipment failure if I ever saw one.
